Retail Dynamics, Inc. began as the Inventory Control Center in 1990 and was founded for the sole purpose of selling, installing and supporting point-of-sale systems in the capital region of New York State. The company began selling Sharp/Datasym cash registers that were interfaced to Great Plains Software and directed its marketing efforts towards liquor, convenience and grocery stores. Within two years of installing the system in over 30 stores between Albany and Boston, we realized that Great Plains was not a good fit for our customers.
From our vantage point, we surveyed the software market for a product that would quiet our clients clamoring for software that was:
Simple and easy to use
Practical (to answer retailers' real questions with minimum effort)
Profit-oriented (to offer fingertip info for smarter business decisions)
Fast (for quick processing, lookups, price changes and reports)
An investment in the future (using state-of-the-art Microsoft Windows)
We also felt that dealers (like us) need a strong relationship with the software manufacturer to allow for profitable installations and quality technical and marketing support. To our dismay, no suitable software manufacturer or product existed, so we decided to create our own: Profits Inventory and Retail Management Software.
After over four years of development, and 350 installations nationwide, Profits is a fantastic product. Customers and dealers have raved over its ease of use, power and flexibility. We want to offer our software to other Sharp, Datasym, Samsung and Casio dealers (like ourselves) with a dealer program which allows us to jointly benefit. We look forwared to the future with confidence and the expectation of even greater things to come!
